The 1,000 Wildflowers and the Women of Arvin Project

A PARTNERSHIP WITH HATAYA TUBTIM, THE ARTS COUNCIL OF KERN COUNTY AND THE CITY OF ARVIN

A collaborative project with women in Arvin, CA in which participants created one thousand hand-embroidered California poppy flowers out of clothing remnants and fabric. The flowers symbolize the histories of multi-generations of women of Arvin, women's labor, and California's dwindling wildflower populations.
